Abide: to remain, stay, or dwell in a continuous, unbroken relationship with God. From the Hebrew yashab and Greek meno both meaning to stay or sit down and make yourself at home.

A Note from our Rector

I love this description of the word abide: “make yourself at home in my love.” We are grateful for the deep sense of connection that exists at St. Mark’s–connection to God’s presence in worship and connection to one another in our shared life. We want people to grow in ever deepening and loving relationship with God and to find meaningful connections and belonging.

Our St. Mark’s Community provides a gift in the lives of so many: those we worship with, families and children in our Montessori school, 12-step groups that meet in our building, our unhoused neighbors at Church Unbound, students and faculty fed through COMIDA, our seniors, and so many others touched by the remarkable energy and love of St. Mark’s.

We have chosen the theme Abide in Love for our Annual Giving 2027 campaign. This fall as we work together to fund the life and ministry of St. Mark’s, we will explore the many ways this community offers spiritual growth and belonging. St. Mark’s is entirely funded by the generous financial support of our members and friends with an annual budget of almost $800,000. We ask every household to prayerfully consider making a financial pledge. Gifts of every size matter to our shared life.

When you pledge, you show your support for St. Mark’s, giving back a portion of what God has given you. Pledges toward the annual Operating Fund provide the salaries for our clergy and staff, take care of our facilities, fund outreach and ensure we have what we need to thrive.
