For age 3 and up, begins at the same time as our Worship Service, 9:30 a.m., and continues until about 10:10 a.m., when the children are brought into the Sanctuary to join parents and friends for Holy Eucharist. Joy Jungle is a brightly decorated space downstairs in which children engage in artistic creations that follow the seasons of the church year, explore lesser known Bible stories, practice for performances such as the Christmas Pageant, prepare service projects, and learn to have fun together. Following Worship and refreshment time, around 11 a.m., children are then welcome to attend the following Sunday Schools, according to their ages, while parents attend our Forum.
We welcome children, infants to 3 years old, in our nursery. We have loving childcare provided by attentive and well-trained staff and a safe, joyful place for play, snacks and rest. Toys and bedding are sanitized regularly. During the week, our nursery serves as the 2-year-old room of our Montessori school.
Godly Play is for children in preschool through early elementary grades. It is a multi-age, multi-sensory program that deepens our children’s understanding of God and faith through the telling of Sacred Story. The lessons are biblical stories told in a quiet, thoughtful way with simple materials. Children then have the opportunity to respond to these stories through a variety of art media and their own hands-on retelling of the story.

Seasons of the Spirit
Seasons of the Spirit is for older elementary school children. This fun and active class is based on our Sunday readings each week. Seasons of the Spirit offers children the opportunity to read Scripture, discuss it with their peers and leaders, and make connections to their daily lives. It integrates music, art and drama as a way to deepen each child’s understanding of what it means to be Christian.

Rite-13 is for middle schoolers and young teens. Rite-13 is a two-year program that focuses on four core areas: self, society, spirituality, and sexuality. Rite-13 aims to create a nurturing community in which adolescents can recognize and explore the gifts God has given them, celebrate their own creative potential and learn to be an active part of their faith community. Through spiritual conversation, scripture study and lively discussions, youth explore their own spiritual growth and acquire needed skills for the challenges of adolescence.
Journey to Adulthood
As St. Mark’s youth grow into full-fledged teenagers, we continue into the Journey to Adulthood curriculum, following Rite 13. We focus on developing leadership skills, exploring questions of the Christian faith, and building community by engaging in church ministries, service projects and all aspects of Parish life.
