Adult Education

St. Mark’s offer Small Groups for adults during the 11:00 hour on Sunday mornings.  3 or 4 offerings (each lasting 3 to 5 weeks) are scheduled each Sunday morning.  A wide variety of topics are offered to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy something they like or explore something new.  St. Mark’s seeks to include Bible/religious studies, current events/social justice topics, and conversational groups so everyone feels welcome to attend.  Classes and groups are presented in a variety of media: videos lessons, lectures, discussion groups, and collaborative presentations are all utilized to keep topics interesting and fresh.

The popularity of St. Mark's Small Groups has created a need for offerings at times other than Sunday mornings.  Class offerings are not scheduled at various time through the week so as many as possible can participate in them.

Groups are laid by clergy and lay members of the congregation.  Anyone with an interest in exploring a favorite topic is encourage to contact a clergy member about facilitating a Small Group.

Weeks without adult education are sprinkled throughout the year to encourage social interaction and community building.
