We believe Christian formation is a lifelong spiritual journey that is neither simple nor linear, full of mystery, unexpected turns, joy and sorrow. We recognize that all of us are at different points on the path and we respect each other’s positions. You are not required to check your intellect, doubts or questions at the door. We offer many opportunities to learn and grow in the love of God and community inside our door.
Each Sunday, following Holy Eucharist and refreshments, we gather in our Parish Hall for Forum, a time for learning, study and discussion on a wide variety of topics.
Throughout the year, St. Mark’s offers a variety of specialized courses, retreats and learning events. For example, we have offered series on different types of prayer, Advent and Lenten retreats, meditation classes, Christian book discussion groups, and workshops on the practice of Sacred Listening as well as a variety of Sacred Arts classes.
We celebrate the seasons and feasts of our church calendar with special Holy Eucharists and liturgies. Our pet blessing at the Feast of St. Francis, our sacred ofrenda on Dia de Los Muertos during All Saints, our all-ages Gathering of the Greens and Advent Celebration, our joyful dinner and dancing celebration of Mardi Gras as we prepare to enter the season of Lent are all ways in which we mark our spiritual passages and each offers the opportunity to know more about our faith.
